Mater Education — Australia’s only hospital-based Registered Training Organisation — is seeking a dedicated Educator to join our team in Townsville , supporting delivery of the Diploma of Nursing at our Mater Private Hospital Townsville campus. In this permanent , full-time role (start date flexible between November 2025 and January 2026), you’ll play a vital part in nurturing tomorrow’s nurses through authentic, hands-on training within a values-driven and supportive learning environment. What you’ll be doing As an Educator within Mater Education, you’ll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential by delivering engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences across classroom, simulated, and workplace settings. You will: Deliver and assess training in alignment with national standards and Mater’s mission of excellence in healthcare education. Use flexible, inclusive, and innovative teaching approaches to support diverse student cohorts, including school-based learners. Design and evaluate engaging learning and assessment materials that reflect current industry practices and regulatory standards. Foster student success through proactive engagement, constructive feedback, and tailored academic support. Collaborate with colleagues, schools, and healthcare partners across the Townsville region to strengthen pathways into nursing. Contribute to continuous improvement and participate in events, open days, and professional development activities that promote Mater Education’s programs. About you You’re an experienced Registered Nurse and enthusiastic educator who is motivated by seeing others succeed. You combine your clinical expertise with a passion for lifelong learning and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive environment. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE). Strong understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and RTO standards. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with a genuine focus on student wellbeing and success. A collaborative approach and commitment to Mater’s mission and values. A Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain) and a current driver’s licence. Why join us?
