You will own the end-to-end test automation strategy for web and API platforms, building Playwright based frameworks in TypeScript/JavaScript that run reliably in CI/CD and cloud pipelines. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product leads to embed quality from the first commit through production release. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain a scalable Playwright test framework (UI, API, and component tests). Build reusable test utilities, data factories, and selectors that minimise maintenance cost. Integrate tests into CI/CD. Champion shift left quality and pair with developers on TDD/BDD, define acceptance criteria and review pull requests. Implement test observability (trace viewer, video capture, screenshots, performance metrics). Coach squads on automation best practices; mentor junior QA engineers. Contribute to non-functional testing (accessibility, performance, security) where needed. Keep the team abreast of emerging Playwright features, browser quirks, and testing trends. Experience & Skills 5 years in QA automation with 3 years hands-on Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript). Proven track record creating frameworks from scratch and running > 1000 tests per release. CI/CD pipelines in containerised execution in Docker/Kubernetes. Familiar with BDD (Cucumber, Gherkin) and test data management strategies. Strong analytical mindset and debugging skills. Desirable: experience with Pact or other contract-testing tools; exposure to performance or security testing. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical expertise.
