We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This role is based in the Brisbane City and St Lucia, QLD. As a Senior Software Engineer (Technology & Innovation), you will: Challenge the state of the art of autonomous decision making Own the development and release of quality software for world-leading systems. Develop software using C++ and Python within a Linux development environment that will fly on an aircraft Apply systems thinking to architect and implement interoperable autonomy services within a broader ecosystem, including flight autonomy, mission autonomy, mission systems, devops and operational testing. Produce clear, reviewable technical artefacts for cross-functional stakeholders. Serve as a technical representative and collaborator across functions and business units. Champion software quality, maintainability and security as part of your engineering practice. Make informed decisions and take effective action in the presence of uncertainty and incomplete information; adapt with agility as the situation evolves. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Required: Tertiary qualification in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, or related disciplines. Five (5) or more years of experience in professional engineering or research roles (or equivalent combination of higher degree and professional experience). Ability to work both as an independent contributor, and as an active collaborator within a cross-disciplinary team. Be an Australian citizen and hold, or have the ability to obtain a minimum NV-1 Australian Defence security clearance. Desirable: Demonstrated experience in autonomous systems or robotics applications. Demonstrated experience in scientific computing applications. Hold a research higher degree qualification in a relevant discipline. Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
