Due to a staff member moving overseas, NeuroLab has a position available with a neurological caseload in the inner south area of Melbourne. The caseload is within a 20 minute radius of Malvern. The position will be suitable for someone after a 3 -5 days per week of permanent part time or full time position. There will be a supported handover, and preferably an overlap with the current therapist. NeuroLab is a small business created when the need for specialised neurological occupational therapy was identified. The owner comes from a strong background in neurological occupational therapy within large territory public hospitals, private hospitals, neurological not for profit organisations and private community health. Neurolab approaches community occupational therapy differently. The focus is on the quality of care provided, and the increasing the skill of the clinicians for the benefit of the client. Lower KPIs, no overtime and protected time for learning and developing skills. From double sessions and shadow shifts, peer supervision groups, through to frequent PDs (both local and interstate) learning is prioritised and expected. There is frequent supervision, and access to support and extra supervision from the owner whenever needed. Neurolab is where you come to grow as a therapist, not churn out hours. The caseload is comprised solely of neurological adult clients with diagnoses such as MS, Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, Brain Injury, Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia and other neurological conditions. The interventions are specialised, but varied, including: Complex SDA and SIL assessments Functional Capacity Assessments Opportunity to supervise junior staff Cognitive assessment and retraining Equipment assessment, prescription, training, and review Daily living retraining Complex powered and manual wheelchair prescription and training Behaviours of concern intervention and management Upper limb assessment, therapy, and consultation If the following resonates with you, please reach out for more information: You have a minimum of 3 years experience working as an occupational therapist.
