We are currently seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of bespoke roofing and cladding solutions, supporting the construction and installation of intricate substructures and detailing that enable our metalwork to perform and impress. Working alongside experienced roofers, fabricators, and subcontractors, you'll play a key part in transforming architectural plans into built reality. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in high-end residential or architectural carpentry, with strong skills in framing, structural supports, roof preparation, and detailed finishing. A solid understanding of working with timber in conjunction with metal systems is essential, along with a commitment to craftsmanship, reliability, and site safety. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications to determine required materials, installation methods, and accurate dimensions for copper and zinc roofing and cladding systems. Selecting and ordering timbers, sheet metals, and fixings, and preparing detailed layouts for roofing and wall cladding installations. Measuring, cutting, and shaping timber and metal components using hand and power tools to prepare structural framing and roof support elements. Erecting timber frameworks, roof trusses, sub-roofing, and battens to support metal roofing and cladding, ensuring structural alignment and trueness. Installing fascia panels, soffits, roof sheathing, external wall cladding, and framing for doors and windows, specifically designed for integration with copper and zinc materials. Assembling prefabricated or site-prepared wooden and metal structures to be fixed on roofing or exterior surfaces, ensuring they're ready for installation by roofing specialists. Creating precise wood joints and fixing methods to accommodate the expansion, drainage, and structural needs of copper and zinc applications. Constructing formwork for concrete footings and plinths that support roofing structures, guttering systems, or architectural features. Performing repair and maintenance work on timber substructures, fascia, and cladding systems that support or interface with metal roofing elements. Working with non-timber materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and sheet metals in conjunction with carpentry tasks to complete integrated roofing and cladding systems. Qualifications and Skills Required: Relevant qualifications. A minimum of one years' experience in a similar role. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction blueprints High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Familiarity with WHS regulations and safe work practices on construction sites Salary: This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $76,515 - $85,000 per annum, based on a standard 38-hour work week, plus superannuation.
