Our team is growing , and we're looking for a qualified Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join us at our site in Chinchilla and help keep our essential fleet safe, maintained, and operational . The opportunity You’ll be working across a diverse range of vehicles and mobile equipment, including trucks and vacuum trucks . Your main responsibilities will include routine maintenance , fault diagnosis , and attending to breakdowns . What you’ll be doing Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines , fuel systems , cooling systems , and more Performing regular servicing , lubrication , and preventative maintenance Testing engine performance and fine-tuning for optimal operation Rebuilding engines and fabricating or repairing parts when required Using specialized tools and mechanical equipment to solve problems Responding to breakdowns on-site What you’ll bring Qualified Diesel Mechanic , Heavy Vehicle , Mobile Plant , Light Vehicle Mechanic , or Auto-Electrician Experience in the maintenance and repair of trucks , trailers , and mobile equipment Experience in the Coal Seam Gas (CSG) industry or current CSG inductions is highly desirable HR driver license Forklift ticket desirable Strong mechanical , diagnostic , and problem-solving skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative, professional team A background in road transport , plant equipment , or similar fields is desirable What we offer Flexible roster opportunities (Monday to Friday, 10/4, etc.) Day shift , 6:00am starts (also flexible) Full Time Permanent , stable employment with one of Australia’s most respected essential service providers Attractive pay rate and access to high-quality tools and equipment Work locally in Chinchilla, be home every night Supportive team environment – we’re looking for someone who values long-term stability Varied, hands-on work across a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment To apply, you’ll need to: Provide a relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or diesel mechanics Be able to pass a police check and complete a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening ) REMONDIS is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
