We are seeking experienced Head Chefs / Chefs to join our client in Mackay, QLD. These are hands-on roles in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. Chef / Head Chef Responsibilities: Prepare food to the highest standard, maintaining quality and consistency. Manage stock, follow recipes, and assist in cost control to meet budget targets. Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and organization throughout the kitchen. Work independently and collaboratively with kitchen staff. Oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, manage suppliers, and kitchen budget ( Head Chef only ). Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to maintain high performance and consistency ( Head Chef only ). Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards ( Head Chef only ). To be successful, you will have: Minimum 1 year post-qualification full-time experience in prep and a la carte (lunch & dinner). Relevant industry-recognized trade qualifications. Experience in fast-paced, service and quality-focused venues. Passion for food and a guest-focused approach. Strong knowledge of food hygiene practices. Ability to work well under pressure with excellent attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to work split shifts if required.
