Our Purpose: Grow Townsville Our Values: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Value, Enjoyment About the Role The Construction Maintenance and Operations Section provides delivery of maintenance activities related to Townsville's existing public infrastructure within roads and transport, stormwater and drainage, coastal, open spaces, community and culture (cemeteries). These areas provide a range of services including recreational activities for both residents and visitors across the Townsville Region. This role will: Complete the day-to-day irrigation maintenance activities and other work associated with the maintenance of council public irrigation infrastructure. Provide technical support relating to a broad range of irrigation assets across the TCC local government area. Identification and resolution of basic plumbing/ irrigation problems across the network. Carry out irrigation maintenance activities that encompasses auditing and checking for faults, repair of leaks and damaged components, replacing and upgrading of components, completing preventative maintenance activities as required, install or maintain irrigation systems within lawns and garden beds as directed and other activities. This role will work from the Wellington Street Depot. About You Our ideal candidate will have: Mandatory Demonstrated ability to identify and repair solenoid valves, program standalone controllers and identify and repair leaks in non-potable main/ lateral irrigation lines. Sound knowledge of plumbing activities including procedures for system shut down and commissioning and identification and selection of plumbing components needed to complete assigned tasks. Current Manual "C" class driver’s licence. Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD) Desirable Sound knowledge of operational procedures applicable to irrigation maintenance, particularly related to the provision of services in municipal parks and open spaces.
