About the role The purpose of the role is to provide high level, clinical services as a part of a multidisciplinary paediatric endocrine specialist outpatient clinic. Clinical services are provided in line with the AASW ethics and practice standards. This position will deliver clinical assessments and education to paediatric patients and their family members and identify psychosocial issues that are a barrier to achieving optimal treatment outcomes and implement clinical interventions to reduce these barriers. The role is also responsible to provide advice and support to multidisciplinary team staff, and key stakeholders in Paediatrics to improve the clinical management and service capability to achieve optimal care within the speciality of endocrine disorders. All Social Work positions are required to provide 7-day availability for After Hours, On-call rostering to respond to clinical emergencies for patients who meet specified clinical criteria at Ipswich Hospital. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated high level of knowledge and expertise in the delivery of evidence-based assessments and interventions for families with complex needs, with a focus on those higher risk patients that require facilitation of interprofessional processes, cultural consultation and engagement with external agencies to influence clinical outcomes. Demonstrated competence in professional clinical practice and adherence to defined service standards and the management of complex patient/client care, whilst exercising a degree of independence and professional decision making, accessing clinical practice supervision and guidance as required. Demonstrated commitment and leadership for active and ongoing professional development and supervision to meet appropriate professional requirements. Demonstrated ability to adapt knowledge and skills to intervene with a complex caseload where clinical issues may be diverse or multi-layered. Demonstrated effective written communication skills including psychosocial assessments, correspondence with service providers and clinical reports and the provision of practice within the medico legal requirements.
