Your new role: As a Clinical Nurse within the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, you will deliver expert, culturally safe, and person-centred care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Provide advanced clinical and problem-solving skills in child health nursing, including assessment, care planning and health promotion. Deliver leadership in clinical practice, education, and research while supporting junior staff and students. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally responsive care that improves child health outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, service development and outreach programs within the community. This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by a candidate indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. Candidates not meeting this criteria will not be considered. About you: The ideal candidate is an experienced and culturally capable nurse who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a postgraduate qualification in Child Health. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values, practices and community needs. Proven leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills with the ability to mentor and support others.
