About us: General Medicine at Rockhampton Hospital provides a 24-hour, seven day a week service to patients admitted with acute and chronic medical conditions. Rockhampton Hospital is the major referral centre for Central Queensland and Central West Hospital Health Service and provides care for all acute medical conditions including acute management of patients who have suffered a stroke or trans ischaemic attack, high dependency medical including non-invasive ventilation, stepdown of coronary care and intensive care patients, telemetry, care of patients with delirium, infectious diseases, renal care, as well as alcohol and drug detoxification. About the role: Function in collaborative model with the healthcare team to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral as required. Provide safe, quality, cost effective care and practice within the NP scope of clinical practice, that is consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-based practice. Work collaboratively with the health care team and contribute to enhanced patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and emerging nurse-led models of care whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to evolving patient and service needs. Provide referrals to appropriate agencies, including primary health settings. About you: Hold a current Nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a Nurse Practitioner Masters level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory. The successful applicant will be required to undergo the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service Nursing and Midwifery and Health Practitioner Credentialing and Defining Scope of Clinical Practice Sub Committee Nurse requirements for credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner according to the Hospital and Health policy.
