About us: Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoner in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1300 male prisoners within CCC and CCF. The CCC receives and transitions prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay; south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast; and west to Central Highlands. About the role: The Nurse Grade 8 is a Registered Nurse who has: Clear authority for advanced scope of practice in an extended nursing role with autonomous decision making. Works autonomously and collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team. Exercises professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and midwifery and multi-disciplinary stakeholders. Advanced level decision making. Partners with other health professionals to operationalise clinical and corporate governance requirements aligned with the defined scope of practice and service delivery model. This role will work directly with provision of clinical expertise in patient care within the Capricornia Offender Health Service area and transition of Prisoner clients back to CQHHS services and the primary care services in the general community. About you: Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Nurse Practitioner Master's level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory. The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Nurse Practitioners. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the NMBA as a Nurse Practitioner. A demonstrated practice scope in, or completion of, or willingness to complete Opioid Dependence Treatment and Hep C prescriber course/s will be highly regarded.
