About the Role We are on the hunt for a unique blend of technical prowess and business insight - a Finance data specialist who thrives on solving complex challenges and influencing key stakeholders. This position will be part of a core project team to implement new group systems to manage, investigate, and resolve data quality issues in enterprise applications, via deletion and merging, while safeguarding against data loss for both on-premise and Cloud-based applications. You will also play a part to upholding the integrity and maximising the value of our data assets to support business objectives and facilitate informed, data-driven decision-making. About Your Role Guide decision makers in determining where to place specific data while considering business purposes, and how the location of certain data will incur risks. Apply strong knowledge of the data lifecycle, metadata, and processes for maintaining high data quality through all stages. Focus efforts on data cleansing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of information across finance systems. Assist with establishing and maintaining a data governance framework for group finance and related operational systems. Assist with the creation and implementation of best practice data management strategies, including user policies and training materials and statistical reporting for achieving and maintaining high data quality. Ensure that new systems, applications, and data integration measures adhere to existing data management practices, policies, and procedures. Stay abreast of new products in data management, conducting research on emerging trends and developments that could support the business. Identify and ensure the resolution of data quality issues, such as uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness, in a cost-effective and timely manner. Perform data profiling on a regular basis and generate data quality statistics. The results of these audits should be communicated to the owner of the data and tied into service level agreements (SLAs) between data entry personnel, IT, and the appropriate business units. Identify causes of poor data quality, implement solutions, and communicate findings to employees, management, and stakeholders. Support the development and enforce methods and validation mechanisms for ensuring data quality, and accuracy at the point of entry. Support the development and maintenance of data governance health check reports. Dive deep into data sources, understanding their intricacies and ensuring their optimal use. Empower and coach business users, enhancing their data literacy and promoting the use of the developed solutions. Design, develop and maintain data-driven solutions utilising reporting tools. Collaborate with the business SMEs and Technology, contributing to larger projects. Consistently create and update vital documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility. What Sets You Apart: Essential Traits: Rapid adaptability to new tools and data sources. An unyielding commitment to customer service. Firsthand experience with new system implementations (GL/ERP, reporting, HRIS and payroll systems) Profound understanding of the art of science of data visualisation and metrics. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively amidst competing priorities. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with proficiency in written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. University degree in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar. Desirable Traits: Proven record of positively influencing, coaching, and guiding non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications in data management, data quality, or related areas is desirable.
