We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Drill & Blast Engineer to join our client open cut coal operation located within the beautiful region of Hunter Valley. Due to the continued growth you will join an established Technical Services Team with a focus on Drill & Blast design and planning activities on site, to help achieve the mines performance activities and targets. Reporting the Technical Services Manager your key responsibilities will include but not limited to: Achieve optimal design and scheduling and efficient drilling and blasting activities on site. Design drill and blast activities to provide optimal fragmentation. Oversee blasting consumables to control budget and cost. Work closely with other technical services engineers to achieve short and long-term mine plan activities. Achieve daily, weekly and monthly design drill and blast plans. Develop strong working relations with the operations team and site contractors. Key Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering. Previous experience of working Open Cut coal mining. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Mine software experience with Vulcan or other mine design software.
