About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Leading Hand to join our Mackay team. Reporting to the QLD Workshop Supervisor, this role is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and technical oversight across a range of electrical workshop and site service projects. You will play a key role in ensuring project quality, safety, and productivity targets are met while fostering strong team performance and customer relationships. This is a full-time permanent opportunity , based in our Mackay workshop with the potential to support site-based works as required. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Lead and mentor tradespeople, apprentices, and contractors to achieve high-quality project outcomes. Coordinate and schedule electrical workshop and site service activities to meet deadlines and client expectations. Support the Operations Manager with resource planning, budgeting, and reporting. Assist with estimating, quoting, and client liaison for upcoming works. Ensure compliance with WHS procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices. Review and interpret electrical schematics, project scopes, and technical drawings. Drive a positive safety and performance culture through leadership and accountability. Use ERP systems (such as PRONTO, JIRA, and Excel) to manage projects and monitor performance. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: A qualified Electrician with a current Electrical Licence and driver licence . Experienced in supervising teams within a workshop or project-based environment . Confident in interpreting electrical drawings and applying AS/NZS standards. Skilled in planning, problem-solving, and leading by example. Able to communicate clearly and build strong working relationships with staff, subcontractors, and customers. Proficient with ERP and project scheduling software (experience with PRONTO or JIRA highly regarded).
