Mandatory requirement The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements. Description As a Baggage Handler, you’ll be the first point of contact for passengers with baggage needs, such as resolving missing luggage queries. This role requires strong communication, resilience, and the ability to stay calm in busy and high-pressure situations. Your work will include: Assisting passengers with baggage processes Providing support and solutions for delayed or missing baggage Operating safely and securely in line with procedures Carrying out basic administration and reporting requirements Representing Star and our airline partners with professionalism We’re looking for someone who is personable, reliable, and empathetic, with the resilience to manage multiple tasks at once. You should enjoy problem-solving, work well under pressure, and bring a positive, solutions-focused attitude to every passenger interaction. Skills And Experiences Skills Required: A valid Australian driver's licence A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) - or ability to obtain one A valid authority to Drive Airside Card (ADA) – or ability to obtain one Competent in the operational requirements of Baggage Handling Understanding of the aviation industry Physically fit and able to perform lifting and bending Understanding of the aviation industry Excellent organisation and time management skills Working in a high-pressure environment and to strict timelines Customer focus to deliver exceptional service Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations Able to work well in a fast-paced team environment Health and Safety Training Manual Handling procedures Capable of Incident Report writing, in plain and clear English Alignment with our company Values (Safety, Accountability, Customer Service, Innovation, Teamwork) Due to the high volume of applications, only those that are progressed to the next stage of the recruitment process will be contacted.
