About the role AGL’s Hunter Transition team are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support the safe and sustainable transition of the Liddell Power Station and future AGL Macquarie assets. Based in Muswellbroo k , you will play a long-term and pivotal role in supporting the rehabilitation and remediation of AGL’s assets as we transition to renewable generation and storage, as we push to 12GW by 2035. While this role is currentl y delivering the transition of AGL’s Liddell site , there is the opportunity to develop a rewarding career in a truly supportive and experienced team. What you’ll do: Provide technical advice to site managers on rehabilitation, closure, and remediation issues that may arise. Coordinate responsible and effective rehabilitation conditions in regulatory applications, consents, and licences associated with the environment and rehabilitation obligations. Assist with engagement with external bodies on issues relating to rehabilitation and remediation of AGL Macquarie assets. Facilitate statutory notification, reporting, and environmental investigations. Provide professional and technical advice in relation to effective environmental management for the project. Manage EMS and project regulatory compliance tracking and awareness. Assist the Liddell Transition team with environmental management practice and raise awareness and understanding of environmental issues. Coach, coordinate, and mentor Liddell Transition Team members in environment and compliance matters. Assist in developing effective working relationships with key regulatory authorities such as EPA, DPIE, NSW Treasury, or others as . What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or another scientific/technical field required . E xperience in a similar role with rehabilitation/closure and remediation, particularly contamination. Strong project management skills preferred. Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
