Seeking a External Relations Officer Full time Permanent Position Sydney CBD office location– Hybrid work model. Role Purpose The External Relations Officer will play a key part in supporting both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on implementing and embedding our new Partnerships, Fundraising and Grants CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and Partnership Framework. This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic, customer-focused role that contributes to meaningful social impact. Reporting directly to the Partnerships Lead, you will provide user support, oversee donor engagement and processes, and champion best practice in recording, reporting and information sharing across partnerships and fundraising. You will also have opportunities to contribute to wider External Relations activities, including events and thought leadership initiatives. This is a collaborative role that requires strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes that align with Uniting’s values. Key Responsibilities Manage internal stakeholder support requests and troubleshooting through a ticket management tool. Support teams across Uniting in effectively using the Partnerships, Fundraising and Grants CRM to a high standard. Respond to donor enquiries, provide excellent stewardship, draft donor communications and resolve process or service-related issues. Provide guidance and expertise on partnership and fundraising processes for internal teams. Prepare high-quality reporting and analysis of partnership activity for senior leadership and the Board. Convene and coordinate a small internal CRM user group, documenting system improvement requests for the Partnerships Lead. Deliver training sessions and quality improvement activities; advise the Partnerships Lead on further user development needs. Support the External Relations and Engagement team in events, campaigns, and other activities as required. Qualifications and Experience Typically, this role requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer service. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft products, particularly Dynamics, Customer Insights and Journeys. Strong commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality service. Demonstrated technical experience using a CRM to collate data for reporting, analysis and enterprise-level information sharing. Excellent documentation skills with strong attention to detail. Proven capacity to troubleshoot and resolve complex enquiries. Experience using ticket management tools (e.g. ITSM) is preferred but not essential. Positive and adaptive approach to leveraging technology to drive organisational change. Team-oriented, flexible and cooperative with a proactive attitude. Ability to work independently with weekly direction and consistently meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
