The key duties of the position include The Role The Radar Systems Engineer is responsible to the Project Engineering Manager AIR2025 Phase 8 to undertake engineering design work in the AIR2025 Phase 8 project in support of HFSSPO developed HF sensing systems. The AIR2025 Phase 8 project is developed within a framework supporting the team's strong focus on speed to capability. The work undertaken by the Radar Systems Engineer will also include integration of system elements developed by contractors in support of the Commonwealth's role as Prime Systems Integrator for this capability. The Radar Systems Engineer will also be required to provide professional engineering advice and review of both internally developed as well as contractor delivered engineering products as part of a professional engineering team. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
