About the Role: The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join us on a 6-month parental leave cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to get you through the quieter summer months, with a non-working period between Christmas and New Year. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and shared learning. A hybrid role, you will have the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week, with some days from our modern offices in Dandenong where required. This is a varied and diverse role where no two days are the same. You’ll partner with leaders and staff across the organisation to deliver trusted advice, coaching and support across the employee lifecycle, from performance management and employee relations to learning and development, workforce planning and organisational change initiatives. You’ll also contribute to strategic People & Culture projects that drive engagement, performance and capability, while fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on delivery with strategic input and is motivated by making a real difference in a values-driven organisation. Key Accountabilities: As the P&C Business Partner, you will: Partner with leaders and staff to provide expert advice, coaching and support across the full employee lifecycle. Lead and support initiatives in performance management, employee relations, change management, learning and development, and workforce engagement. Build strong, collaborative relationships with managers and employees to promote a positive workplace culture. Provide contemporary employment relations advice, including Award interpretation, Fair Work and NES compliance. Contribute to People & Culture projects and strategic priorities that strengthen performance, resilience and employee experience. Work closely with the Head of People & Culture to deliver workforce reporting, people metrics and organisational insights. About You: You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in a generalist, business partnering role and enjoys working in a fast-paced, values-driven environment. You’re confident in providing accurate and timely advice, building trusted relationships, using your influencing skills to navigate complex matters, providing practical and pragmatic advice, and balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on delivery. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Previous experience in a People & Culture Business Partner or senior HR advisory role. Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Fair Work obligations. Proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach. Excellent relationship-building and coaching skills, with the ability to influence and support managers and staff at all levels. Experience in leading or contributing to projects that enhance culture, engagement, performance and capability. A collaborative mindset and a passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace.
