About your new role As the Foster and Kinship Care Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading a passionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality foster and kinship care services across Central Queensland. You’ll provide strong leadership and direction, ensuring all aspects of the program—from carer recruitment and assessment to ongoing support—are delivered to a high standard and in line with licensing and care requirements. In this role, you’ll foster a supportive, trauma-informed environment for children and young people in care, working closely with carers, staff, and external stakeholders to build positive, collaborative relationships that enhance outcomes for families and communities. You’ll also oversee the operational side of the program, managing budgets, staff rostering, and resource allocation to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Maintaining accurate program data, reporting, and compliance with service agreements will be key to your success, along with contributing to organisational development, continuous improvement, and staff supervision. About you You’re a compassionate and capable leader with a passion for supporting children, young people, and carers. With a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Psychology, or a related field, and at least three years’ experience leading a team in a similar role, you bring strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills to a fast-paced, people-focused environment. You have demonstrated experience in child protection or out-of-home care services, underpinned by a sound understanding of trauma, grief and loss, attachment, and child development. Highly motivated and strategic, you combine strong financial and program management capabilities with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes for children, carers, and the community. Mandatory Requirements A completed bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Psychology, or a related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team in a similar role. Demonstrated leadership experience in child protection or out-of-home care services as well as strong financial and program management skills. Additional requirements: Current Blue Card (Working with Children) and Yellow Card (Disability Services). Current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence. Proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
