A highly creative role in an iconic Outback location Create content about projects and NRM issues (soil, water, land, biodiversity) Work for the largest NRM catchment in Queensland - making up a third of the state For nearly 20 years, Desert Channels Queensland has partnered with landholders, graziers and communities to deliver natural resource projects in the Queensland section of the Lake Eyre Basin. We are a dynamic, award-winning, 'roll-up-your-sleeves' team that is experienced in weed management, feral animal control, revitalising springs, property mapping, data capture, sustainable agriculture, threatened species monitoring and improving land condition. We have dozens of projects on-the-go that invest in soil, water, land and biodiversity across 51 million hectares of our iconic Western Queensland region. What you'll do' The successful candidate will be creative and able to take initiative, and will be responsible for making engaging content that reflects the work of Desert Channels Queensland - photography, articles, social media, educational flyers, media releases and videos. Capture and promote relevant stories from the field in relation to project work, project activities and NRM issues (soil, water, land and biodiversity) Build working relationships with project partners and broadcast organisations, pitching stories to achieve greater audience on news and social media Develop a Communications Plan for each project in collaboration with staff and oversee overall Communications Strategy.
