Drives, Chats & Country Yarns - Volunteer to Brighten the Day of a Local Legend in Caves Beach Do you enjoy a scenic drive and a good chat? We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with an older gentleman in Caves Beach who would love some company for a weekly or fortnightly drive and conversation. He’s a retired farmer with a passion for the land, merino sheep, and the simple pleasures of country life — and he’s got a treasure trove of stories to share. Add in his love of sailing and the coast, and you’re in for some rich and memorable conversations. If you’ve got a kind heart, a car, and a little time to spare, this could be the most rewarding drive of your week. No special skills required — just a listening ear and a friendly smile. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
