About the role As the Head of Commercial Strategy, you’ll be responsible for managing and transforming our network tariff strategy to ensure it meets the needs of both the business and our customers. You’ll lead cross-functional projects, engage with key stakeholders, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management. Your work will directly support the integration of new technologies and the ongoing evolution of the energy market. Key responsibilities include: Lead the development and implementation of strategies to manage and transform network tariffs. Ensure tariffs support the energy transition, including solar PV, storage, EV charging, and microgrids. Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and stakeholder feedback to shape tariff strategies. Collaborate with internal teams to align tariff strategies with overall business goals. Engage with external stakeholders to advocate for tariff proposals and gather insights. Extensive experience in large corporate organisations, ideally within the regulated electricity distribution industry. Strong analytical and economic modelling skills, with a focus on financial and commercial analysis. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and deliver results under pressure This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months covering parental leave. This role can be based within the Essential Energy footprint with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment. About You You’re a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the energy market and a proven track record in senior financial, regulatory, or commercial roles.
