About the role As the Assurance Officer, you will - Support the planning of assurance activities by collecting and organising complex information and data from various sources and identifying and analysing trends to inform pre-assurance tasks. - Identify and escalate non-compliance issues by preparing clear, evidence-based findings and supporting documents for the Lead Assurance Officer to review. - Work as part of the assurance team to assist and occasionally lead assurance activities for registered training organisations. This includes assessing compliance with SAS Agreements, reviewing evidence and providing advice to stakeholders on compliance matters and assurance outcomes. - Contribute to monitoring SAS performance by engaging in continuous improvement processes and collaborating with internal stakeholders and state and federal entities. - Develop and maintain accurate and detailed electronic records of assurance activities, ensuring they comply with departmental policies and procedures. - Perform other duties and provide relevant support to team members and stakeholders as required, ensuring agreed outcomes and deadlines are met. What we are looking for The position requires an applicant who can: - Demonstrate knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the vocational education and training sector in Queensland, particularly as it relates to SAS Agreements. - Apply comprehensive research, data collection and analytical skills to investigate issues, make decisions and provide recommendations to achieve objectives. - Apply highly developed written and verbal communication skills to present information in a clear and concise manner, while using effective interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders. - Demonstrate personal responsibility for completing work accurately and on time, showing commitment and energy to achieving team and departmental goals. - Contribute to team activities and projects by using initiative to solve problems and make considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context. - Work flexibly without supervision by effectively managing new and unexpected events and apply judgement about when to escalate issues.
