Position Profile: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the provision of expert professional and strategic advice to the Minister and the Director General on all matters relating to medical practitioners, including professional, workforce and policy issues. The CMO leads the strategic direction of the medical profession through engagement with the public and private sector of health and education providers in order to maintain a safe and effective medical workforce that is aligned with the health service delivery requirements of Western Australia. The role contributes nationally and internationally to support the WA Health agenda with respect to medical workforce and professional matters.
