Description Handy Person Location: Australian Capital Territory, Australia Company: BGIS (Technical Services) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Mobile The Role We’re seeking a Handy Person to keep facilities safe, reliable, and running smoothly. You’ll tackle a variety of maintenance tasks—air conditioning (basic), painting, plumbing, tiling, and carpentry—while partnering with Facilities and Maintenance Managers/Supervisors. You’ll uphold BGIS’s high standards and champion OHS and Environmental policies, using safe systems of work with strong support for wellbeing and development . Support Facilities Manager/Supervisor; assist with Capital Works and maintenance planning Direct and liaise with subcontractors to ensure contract and BGIS standards are met Champion OHS/EMS compliance; identify hazards, report incidents, and maintain a safe work environment Build strong relationships with clients, tenants, suppliers and consultants; communicate changes and decisions (incl. meeting agendas/minutes) Drive continuous improvement by reviewing objectives and adjusting plans to meet KPI targets (financial, operational, compliance, client satisfaction) Your Education, Experience & Skills Experience in a building/facilities management environment (Desirable) Demonstrated ability to work within OHS, QA and Environmental systems (essential) Training in current OHS/QA (and ideally Environmental) legislation/systems (essential) Comfortable with maintenance systems and quality reporting.
