This role sits within our busy Communications and Marketing team who are responsible for building the global reputation of The George Institute through media relations, digital platforms, marketing initiatives and internal communications. In this position, you will support the execution of the communication activities in Australia and contribute to building awareness of the brand and positioning of our organisation as a key player in global health. This is a hybrid role based in Sydney. Our successful candidate will be required to attend the office 1-2 days per week with Tuesdays being one of the in-office days to support our team collaboration. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Deliver strategic communications for Australia in alignment with the Global Communications and Marketing Strategy Identify and develop impactful stories that showcase our work Create media releases, social media content, web stories and blogs Collaborate with various departments across our organisation supporting strategy and content creation Build and maintain relationships with Australian media and manage media enquiries Support global media opportunities and promote events via internal channels For more information on this role, please see our detailed Position Description here Skills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate Up to 3 years’ experience in a similar role Strong writing skills and attention to detail Experience in delivering digital assets, capturing content in particular Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines Ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels of the organization Ability to respond to media requests outside of normal business hours Strong MS Office skills and confidence working with digital platforms The closing date for applications is 31 October 2025.
