HVAC Technician - Southport (Rotating Roster) Location: Southport QLD 4215 Company: BGIS, Healthcare Aligned Client Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Onsite This role operates on 12-Hour Shifts (6am - 6pm, 6pm - 6am rotation). The successful candidate must be flexible to work on a 12-Hour Day & Night Rotating Roster. Purpose of the Role BGIS Technical Services specializes in providing Planned and Reactive Maintenance solutions for Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Building, and Fire Services. Initially focused on servicing existing accounts across NSW, the company plans to expand nationwide. This role involves the maintenance and servicing of chillers, package units, split systems, ventilation, and filtration systems. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Tender and Quotation Management: Prepare, manage, and oversee tenders, quotations, and estimates as required. - Equipment Handling: Assemble, install, test, and maintain heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment using appropriate tools and techniques. - System Maintenance: Conduct maintenance on cooling units, ventilation equipment, and related systems to ensure optimal performance. - Diagnostic and Repair Work: Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in heating and cooling systems. - Inspection and Compliance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on refrigerators, chilled water systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS). - Client and Contract Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and service delivery align with KPIs and client expectations. - Reporting and Communication: Prepare monthly reports, manage client meetings, and ensure clear documentation of service activities. - Continuous Improvement: Assess objectives regularly, adapt to evolving priorities, and drive continuous improvements in service efficiency. - Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work environment, support team development through coaching and mentoring, and contribute to a positive team culture. - Compliance and Accountability: Uphold BGIS values and standards while ensuring team members meet performance expectations. Qualifications and Experience Essential: - Experience: 1-5 years in a similar role, particularly in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration systems (all levels welcome to apply) - Skills: Strong diagnostic abilities to identify and repair electrical and mechanical faults. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach. - Education & Licences: Trade Licence, Refrigerant Handling Licence (Artic), and Restricted Electrical Licence.
