We are seeking a Principal Medical Officer to join the Medicines Regulation Division at the Therapeutic Goods Administration. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical evaluation of prescription medicines and contributing to regulatory decisions that ensure the safety, efficacy and quality of therapeutic goods. As a Principal Medical Officer , you will lead a team of medical professionals, provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, and make regulatory decisions about the registration of prescription medicines. You will apply your deep clinical expertise and regulatory insight to guide complex evaluations and drive reform initiatives. Principal Medical Officers provide strategic leadership within the Medicines Regulation Division and the broader department. They lead teams responsible for evaluation and decision making for the market authorisation of particular groups of medicines. Medical Officers at this level require a very high level of professional knowledge and skills in a specific field(s) of medicine, including pharmacology, epidemiology and regulatory science. The successful candidate must also have demonstrated strategic leadership, team management, organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
