About the Role We are seeking a qualified and reliable Residential Care Officer to join our dedicated residential-care team. The role involves providing direct care, supervision, and emotional support to residents in group housing or supported-living facilities. You will work collaboratively with families, coordinators, and allied-health professionals to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive home environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide daily supervision and emotional support to residents in group housing or supported accommodation. • Facilitate access to education, training, recreational, and community programs. • Support residents in developing independent living and social skills. • Monitor residents’ wellbeing, behaviour, and progress, and report to the care coordinator or case manager. • Assist with implementing individual support and behaviour management plans. • Promote residents’ participation in household routines, personal development, and social activities. • Liaise with families, allied health professionals, and other agencies to coordinate care and support. • Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and compliance records. Skills and Attributes • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients and families. • Understanding of trauma-informed practice, active support, and positive-behaviour support. • Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally. • Sound organisational and reporting skills. • Empathetic, reliable, and committed to participant wellbeing and rights. Qualifications and Requirements • Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Residential Care, Youth Work, or Disability Support (AQF Level 5 or above). • At least 2 years’ full-time experience in a residential-care or supported-accommodation setting. • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), and National Police Check. • Valid First Aid / CPR Certificate and Australian Driver Licence. • Knowledge of NDIS Standards and reporting procedures.
