THE OPPORTUNITY We are currently looking for a casual Cooks to work at our Springvale Botanical Cemetery locations. Reporting to the Head Chef, this role will be responsible in supporting the coordination of daily operations of all Café Vita Flores and function activities. Responsibilities include: Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and organising ingredients. Ensuring food is prepared in accordance with the daily plan. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas. Clean kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils as required. Ensure the safe disposal of waste and adherence to waste management protocols. Ensure food supplies are appropriately labelled, stored, and used within the correct time frames. Notify the Chef's of any shortages or issues with supplies. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations. Support the team with any additional tasks required during busy periods. Assist with organising and maintaining kitchen storage areas. Report any faulty or damaged kitchen equipment to the Head Chef or management. Perform any other duties as required by the Head Chef or kitchen management team. ABOUT YOU Current qualifications or certifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent. Availability during both weekdays and weekends. Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety practices and processes. Ability to work successfully and productively within a team environment and independently. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. High level of organisational, time management and problem solving capabilities. Flexible, reliable, and willing to take on a variety of tasks as required. High level of presentation and strong work ethic. What's on offer?
