(visit our web site www.nvengineering.com.au) Metal Machinist Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, including Lathes, Milling Machines, Vertical and Horizontal Borers. • Perform precision machining and finishing operations to exact tolerances on various metals and materials. • Operate Mazak CNC Lathes and machining centres, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality output. • Select and install correct tools, fixtures, and materials to optimise machining performance. • Inspect finished components using precision instruments to verify measurements and surface finish. • Maintain machines and tools in clean, serviceable condition and report any maintenance needs. • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to plan and complete machining tasks accurately. • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet project targets and deadlines. • Work in accordance with all workplace health and safety standards. • You may be requested to work overtime when required to meet production schedules. • Demonstrate a conscientious and enthusiastic approach to all work tasks, supporting a positive team culture. Qualifications and Experience • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent qualification. • Proven experience in precision machining and CNC operations, ideally with Mazak systems. • Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and workshop practices. • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
