Trade Assistant/Irrigation Maintenance Worker - Townsville Achieve Group is looking for a skilled and motivated Irrigation Maintenance Worker to join a dedicated team supporting the maintenance of irrigation systems across the Townsville region. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical problems, and making a visible impact in the community's parks and open spaces. Location: Townsville, QLD Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (2 months) Classification: LGE 3–4 (based on qualifications and experience) Roster: Monday - Friday, 9 days a fortnight. What You’ll Be Doing: Conduct daily maintenance and repairs on irrigation infrastructure. Identify and resolve irrigation and basic plumbing issues. Carry out fault-finding, audits, leak repairs, and component replacements. Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as required. Install or maintain irrigation systems in garden beds and lawns. Support the team and follow directions from the Team Leader. What You’ll Bring (LGE 3 Requirements): Construction White Card. Able to pass pre medical, physical and D & A testing. Experience identifying and repairing solenoid valves and leaks in non-potable systems. Ability to program standalone irrigation controllers. Knowledge of system shutdown, commissioning, and plumbing components. Understanding of irrigation operations in parks and open spaces. Current Queensland 'C' class manual driver’s license (mandatory). Familiarity with IRRInet irrigation controller systems (desirable).
