As our new Process Engineer in Sydney, you’ll be part of a close-knit and highly skilled team working on industrial process and energy projects across Australia. With support from our larger national network – particularly our 20-person QLD team – you’ll get exposure to a varied client base all with different problems that needs solutions. From the start, you’ll be hands-on – running calculations, modelling industrial systems, and contributing to reports that are client-facing and high-impact. This is a rare opportunity to build deep technical experience early in your career, while gaining exposure to multiple industries including oil & gas, food and beverage, aluminium processing, and new fuel technologies like sustainable aviation fuel. Here’s what your week might look like: Working with modelling software to run heat and mass balances, pipeline and equipment sizing, and process simulations Developing and updating Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Collaborating with the QLD and Sydney teams to understand client scope, deliverables and schedules Writing technical reports and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and clients Gaining exposure to project phases from concept design through to detailed engineering What are we looking for? You’re a curious and determined Process Engineer who wants to fast-track your technical development. You’ll bring: A degree in Chemical Engineering 4 years’ industry experience – ideally in industrial processing, piping systems, food & beverage or energy Experience performing complex process calculations Solid understanding of process flows, modelling tools (e.g. ASPEN HYSYS, FluidFlow, SYSCAD), and equipment sizing An interest in continuous improvement and real-world impact The ability to manage your own time and priorities while contributing to a team We will also be considering applications with the below experience Food & beverage or pharmaceutical process environments Piping design projects (HVAC, specification and regulation knowledge) Mechanical or validation engineering roles with process crossover Alumina industry experience Why choose Aurecon?
