The Opportunity As the Head of Platforms , you will lead teams of teams to achieve outstanding results and drive MYOB's platform-first transformation and technical excellence. This role sits at the intersection of product and engineering leadership — architecting and scaling shared technology foundations that are secure, performant, and built to last. You’ll define the platform vision, lead the delivery of extensible SaaS capabilities, and embed guidelines that enable teams to innovate faster. By aligning technical direction with product and commercial strategy, you’ll ensure our platforms power exceptional customer experiences and measurable business impact. What's involved Highly developed management and leadership skills in a SaaS and Platform as a Product engineering environment, with extensive experience balancing competing priorities Leading Product Leaders & Engineering Managers and their teams to drive a compelling platform vision, treating platforms as customer-centric products with clear ownership and lifecycle management of roadmaps and backlogs. Explore groundbreaking technology and lead technical innovation through cloud-native systems, AI/ML-powered automation and analytics. Champion adoption of PlatformOps, DevSecOps, and SRE practices to drive reliability, security, agility, and operational excellence. High proficiency in software engineering, architecture, platform design (API-first, microservices), and modern delivery practices. Detailed understanding of product management for platforms, integrating customer/collaborator feedback and business priorities. Lead end-to-end vendor and contract management, setting strategy, coordinating contracts, governing performance against critical metrics, handling risk and compliance, optimising cost and value, and driving renewals or exits to ensure continuity and business outcomes. Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching/mentoring, critical thinking, facilitation, change leadership, and team development with a focus on embracing our values Proven experience in leading high performance development capabilities, utilising agile methodologies Ability to source, develop and retain platform engineering, architect, and product management talent. Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, team members, partners and suppliers Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical influencing Partner with Product, Architecture, and Technology leadership to ensure platform vision and roadmaps align to company strategy.
