The Gig An exciting opportunity is now available for a motivated, safety-focused Leading Hand to join a civil and landscaping contractor delivering high-profile works across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You’ll take the lead on site, working closely with the Site Manager to deliver projects to the highest standards. Based in South Brisbane and reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll ply your trade to coordinate trades, operators, and labourers, assist with subcontractor management, and keep works moving efficiently and safely. You’ll also handle plant and equipment operation, setting out works, and ensuring quality construction aligned with specifications and drawings. Technical precision underpins everything you do , from planning daily tasks and operating machinery to spotting hazards and leading your team with confidence. You keep safety front and centre while driving productivity and delivering high-quality results. You’ll be trusted with: Leading site crews to deliver high-quality landscape and civil works Operating plant and equipment safely and efficiently Setting out works to drawings and specifications Coordinating materials, equipment, and subcontractor tasks Training and mentoring staff on-site Supporting safety compliance, hazard identification, and risk control Maintaining plant and equipment to operational standards Liaising with the Site Manager and Project Manager on progress and issues What’s in your toolbox? Qualification in landscape trade or similar discipline High-level experience in commercial landscaping or civil environments VOC in relevant plant and machinery operations Current driver’s licence and White Card Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude You’re the kind of person who leads by example, keeps safety front of mind, and gets the best out of your crew.
