Job Description Acciona Agua is seeking a highly capable Senior HR/IR Advisor to support the delivery of a major Water Treatment Project in New South Wales. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective implementation of HR and industrial relations strategies across the project lifecycle — from mobilisation and workforce planning to performance delivery, compliance, and demobilisation. You will work closely with the Project Director, Senior Managers, and HR teams in Australia and Spain to ensure HR/IR practices are aligned with project goals and legal frameworks. HR & IR Strategy and Support Provide expert HR and IR advice to project leadership and site teams. Support workforce planning, mobilisation, and employee lifecycle processes. Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Awards, EBAs, and company policies. Assist in the development and implementation of the Workplace Relations Management Plan. Employee Relations & Compliance Advise on employment conditions, industrial instruments, and dispute resolution. Support grievance handling, performance management, and disciplinary processes. Monitor and manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work plans. Training & Development Coordinate onboarding, probation reviews, and performance evaluations. Promote continuous learning and development aligned with project needs. Maintain accurate training records and support enterprise training initiatives. Reporting & Systems Maintain HR data and reporting systems, including monthly updates to the Indirect Forecast. Report to the Head of HR in Australia and HQ in Spain, escalating issues as needed. Assist with payroll accuracy and HR budget tracking. Recruitment & Talent Management Support recruitment activities for project mobilisation and ongoing workforce needs. Contribute to succession planning and SMART goal setting. Safety & Culture Participate in safety investigations and promote a safety-first culture. Uphold Acciona’s Code of Conduct and values across the project Required Skills and Competencies Required Skills and Competencies Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Minimum 5–7 years of HR/IR experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of employment law, industrial relations, and HR systems. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a project-based environment with cross-functional teams.
