Your Role at St John of God Geelong Hospital You will perform housekeeping duties within the unit, or the wider hospital as required and ensure that the environment and surfaces are free of microbes and not a source of infection to patients and caregivers. The Position Assists with safe and tidy storage of supplies within the unit. Performs housekeeping duties throughout the unit in accordance with Statement of Duties and Cleaning Standards Victorian Health Facilities. Ensure that the patient room is presented as per hospital standards. Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment. Communicate effectively with all caregivers, customers and patients using the appropriate channels, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication. Participate in the documentation of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for activities that could pose an OHS risk. Working in a supportive team environment you will have basic knowledge of chemical usage and effective communication skills. You will have an understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols, whilst maintaining a high level of cleaning skills and knowledge of usage of cleaning equipment.
