Harrison School is a P-10 school with enrolments of 1500 students. A strength of our school is its diverse population with many students coming from language backgrounds other than English (EAL/D) and Australian Defence Force families. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to lead student engagement and wellbeing in our High School. The school leader will join a united P-10 executive team who work together to lead the implementation of our school priorities. Job description: Lead and support a positive and collaborative staff culture. Promote and maintain strong student relationships and family partnerships. Lead the implementation of Positive Behaviours for Learning and embed consistent systems and processes that promote a positive school culture. Lead, coach and mentor the Wellbeing Team - Year Coordinators, Youth Worker, School Nurse, School Psychologist and Administration Support. Liaise with the Directorate, community agencies and staff to develop and implement effective learning and behaviour support plans. Expertise in collecting and analysing student learning and wellbeing data to effectively support staff, students and families. Work collaboratively with Year Coordinators to facilitate year level events and excursions. Work collaboratively with the Wellbeing Team to implement a 7-10 Social Emotional Learning program. Undertake an appropriate teaching load and other duties as determined by the Principal. Eligibility/Other requirements: A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI . Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
