English Teacher (Maternity Cover) Location: Devon / Somerset border Start Date: January 2026 Duration: Maternity Contract (Full-Time) ANZUK Education is working with a secondary school on the Somerset/Devon border that is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave. This is a full-time position teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English , with the potential opportunity to teach Drama depending on experience and timetable needs. Key Responsibilities of an English Teacher: Teach English to KS3 & KS4 students (and Drama, if applicable) Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons aligned with the national curriculum Mark and assess students’ work, providing meaningful feedback to support progress Create a positive and supportive learning environment that inspires a love of language and literature Manage classroom behaviour effectively and build strong rapport with students Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental planning and activities Key Requirements of an English Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching English at KS3 & KS4 level Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English (and Drama, if applicable) Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills Ability to quickly adapt to a new school environment A passion for motivating and inspiring students Why Choose ANZUK Education: Full support throughout your placement Competitive pay rates (£168.80 - £232.57 per day) Access to a supportive and collaborative network of educators Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
