About the Role TP Human Capital is partnering with a government client in Townsville to recruit a Customer Service and Administration Officer . This is a temporary position until February 2026, offering an hourly rate of $42 plus super . This role forms part of a rotational administration resource pool, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and accurate administrative support across multiple operational areas. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality customer service across multiple correspondence channels. Maintain and update the rates mailing address register, providing copies of rates and supplementary notices as required. Generate accurate Property Search Reports in response to customer requests within strict timeframes. Update land ownership records and create charges for supplementary rate notices in accordance with established cycles. Manage and maintain the water connection database, including route sequencing, collating monthly standpipe readings, and completing associated water meter reporting. Process financial transactions such as journal adjustments, agency payments, direct debits, payroll deductions, refunds, and transfers. Investigate and resolve incorrectly processed payments and returned mail. Respond to requests and enquiries related to rates, water billing, and utility charges. Skills and Experience Certificate IV in Business or a related qualification is highly desirable. Minimum three years’ experience in an administrative or customer service role within a dynamic, multi-functional environment. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
