The key duties of the position include: What you will do as the Senior Governance Officer: Manage agency processes in relation to conflicts of interest for senior staff and full time Statutory office holders and Associate Commissioners. Manage regular reporting on the use of delegations within the Agency, including implementing uniform processes for this reporting. Manage compliance of the ACCC’s obligations under the Commonwealth Child Safety Framework. Undertake or contribute to highly sensitive work on behalf of the General Manager, ensuring efficient executive-level support that aligns with business priorities. The Senior Governance Officer will understand the strategic priorities of the agency and will be required to provide well considered advice through the Director, Governance and Performance, to the General Manager, Executive Office. This includes in relation to the agency’s management of its governance practices and policies, and to implement changes to improve business processes. The role manages the flow of critical information through the Executive Office to the CEO and Commissioners by coordinating and monitoring governance uplift project plans to inform leadership team decision-making and drive progress toward organisational goals. Eligibility In order to succeed in the role, you will have: Relevant work experience in a governance or administration role. A strong understanding of ACCC functions and governance processes, or the ability to quickly attain this understanding. A demonstrated ability to effectively:plan, organise and prioritise competing priorities with minimal supervision communicate complex issues simply, clearly and effectively in different mediums develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and teams across the agency apply sound judgement, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
