About the role: Reporting to the Regional Service Manager and Team Leader, the Senior Support Worker position is a 6 month fixed term role, working Monday to Friday across Brisbane's southside, predominantly based at our Greenslopes facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing customers living with Mental Health and psychosocial disabilities with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to reside in their chosen community. Key roles and responsibilities: Monitoring of quality of services provided, including checking in with Support Workers Continuing to support customers directly; providing daily supports and community access to customers with Mental Health disabilities Providing clear directions, support, and communication to staff in relation to Restrictive Practices, Duty of Care, De-escalation and behavioural changes. Maintain workplace culture, ensuring staff remain engaged, motivated, and utilised to their strengths. Ensure staff are provided with advice, feedback, support and answers to questions as required. About you: The ideal candidate will have compassion and experience working with those facing various life challenges, including interacting with people living with mental illness and disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess: Extensive experience working within Mental Health as a Support Worker, ideally in a leadership role; Current driver’s licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes; Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or ability to obtain; Comfortable in undertaking sleepover shifts when required; Hold a current NDIS Workers Screening Check – or the ability to acquire; About us: As part of the Civitas Group, Supported Care is a privately owned organisation designed to provide support services to individuals living in SIL, SDA, level 3 supported accommodation and the community.
