About this role: This role has primary responsibility for ensuring that new water meter installations are compliant with Icon Water’s technical requirements and standards, and for ensuring the accurate capture of asset data to support customer billing. The position also supports the Metered Standpipe Program and the business in conducting investigations and inspections of metering and other hydraulic assets in response to stakeholder and customer enquiries. What We’re Looking For: Icon Water is looking for a Technical Officer in the Metering Team who will take primary responsibility for planning and performing inspections of new water meters to ensure compliance to Icon Waters standards and to meet required performance targets. You will also be required to provide support and guidance to plumbers, builders and developers to ensure the installation of compliant water meters. Who we are looking for: We’re seeking a dedicated individual who has relevant technical, plumbing or trade qualifications and or experience in a construction, industrial, manufacturing or utility service delivery environment. Experience and knowledge in the operation, maintenance and condition assessment of utility network infrastructure would be preferable. You will also need to demonstrate that you can: Implement and undertake regular review of the process to manage and limit unauthorised connections (including tagging) for new residential dwellings. Provide input to the scope, planning and delivery of the Water Meters Renewal Program. Perform assessments and information gathering for in-service water meters to inform the Water Meters Renewal Program. Conduct meter investigations and attend to customer complaints relating to high consumption, meter accuracy, water hammer and pressure and flow issues, under direction from the Senior Technical Officer Support the Senior Technical Officer with the deployment of the data logger / networks sensors (flow, pressure, leak noise) including inventory management, tracking and maintenance. Assist the Key Accounts and Revenue Assurance Team, Billing Team and Customer Solutions and Network Maintenance Services with investigations and field inspections related to meter and other hydraulic assets as required. Ensure water meter and associated asset data is maintained in relevant databases to meet data quality standards. Develop and apply working knowledge of Icon Water’s Metering Standards and Procedures and related technical documentation and be able to apply these in practice in the field.
