The key duties of the position include The Role Within the Product Management function an EL 1 Product Manager is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex product management work within an integrated workforce. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. As a Product Manager within the Collins Combat System Management team, you will be responsible for the complete product lifecycle of the sub-systems within your remit - The Tactical Payload Control System and Navigation Aids. This will involve the coordination of delivery of Tactical and Navigational products from our local and international partners for integration into assembled Combat Systems, roll-out of system baselines on Collins Class Submarines, and management of sub-systems for usability, supportability and obsolescence issues. Your scope of management will include all Integrated Logistic System products such as sparing, training, documentation and user manuals. As a key member of the leadership team you will use the existing risk, issue and configuration management tools and processes to manage the Tactical and Navigational products within your scope. You will coordinate people, material, funding and processes to achieve the outcome, coordinating with your fellow Product Managers to deliver a coordinated Combat System to the Collins Class Submarines. You will be supported by staff and peers with extensive knowledge in the processes and procedures to conduct your business and the technical solutions you will be asked to implement.
