Job Description YOUR ROLE Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) is seeking an Assurance Advisor to join the Governance and Legal Directorate. This role supports the Assurance Manager in designing, implementing, and evaluating the MACS assurance program, providing independent assessment of controls, and enhancing enterprise risk management across MACS. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, contribute to assurance planning and execution, and provide evidence-based recommendations that strengthen MACS’ risk and compliance culture. WHAT YOU WILL DO Coordinate and deliver assurance activities, policies, and reporting. Support the design and implementation of a holistic assurance plan covering risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Undertake controls testing and data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. Prepare clear, concise reports on assurance findings and recommendations. Engage with stakeholders to drive assurance awareness and promote a strong risk culture. Support liaison with regulatory bodies and contribute to the outsourced internal audit program. Identify opportunities for business process improvement and best practice implementation. ABOUT YOU Minimum 3 years’ experience in risk, assurance, or internal audit roles within a complex or highly regulated organisation. Tertiary qualification in quality assurance, risk, governance, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of risk management frameworks (ISO31000:2023) and auditing standards. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, assurance planning, and controls testing. Excellent written and verbal communication, with proven ability to prepare executive-level reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data analysis capability.
