The key duties of the position include The Role The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing a team of APS staff and contractors in the delivery of warehousing, procurement, and logistics support to shipbuilding and sustainment programs. Key Duties: Lead and manage a logistics team of APS employees and contractors to deliver warehousing and inventory outcomes aligned with program needs Ensure team members remain current with qualifications and mandatory training Contribute to warehousing governance and assurance; close audit actions on time Manage codification, cataloguing, stock receipt, storage, and transfers in ERP systems per DEFLOGMAN Oversee procurement and delivery of stores items, including monthly performance reporting (e.g. delivered on time, quarantined items) Support Supply Chain plans implementation and Maritime Supply Chain planning with SPOs Engage with shipbuilders, Programs, and Commonwealth reps to maintain agreed stores processes Support stores loading, GFE delivery, and provision of Commonwealth services and supplies for set-to-work, sea trials, and ship delivery at Osborne Lead logistics data remediation, including stores remediation via SPOs Ensure warehousing and logistics operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with Commonwealth standards About our Team Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA and have a detachment in Henderson, WA and a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW. NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction. NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in service by Navy.
