About the Role: The position delivers a range of expert specialist technical services, including coordinating the design, planning, deployment and ongoing improvement of a reliable database system for the Department, which maintains a consistently high level of availability and accessibility for users. This includes coordinating and ensuring the monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing performance of databases and their compliance with database related policies, standards and procedures. Key Role Outcomes Expert technical services, including development, monitoring, migration, issue identification and resolution, maintenance and reporting functions, are coordinated and delivered to provide a reliable, compliant and accessible database system for DEW. Specialist technical advice, information and written communications are coordinated and delivered to DEW staff and users in relation to very complex database and software High level coordination and input is provided to ensure that database backup and recovery procedures, and associated projects, are effectively planned and delivered. Systems documentation, procedures manuals, and associated policies, standards and processes, are developed, review and implemented. High level and expert support, analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance and testing services are provided to ensure the effective delivery of a range of technically complex DEW systems application software. Expert contribution is made to the management and development of Directorate and Branch operations and plans to meet currently accepted industry “Best Practice” standards and improve overall Branch performance outcomes.
