Description This role has primary responsibility for the delivery of a range of services including building approvals, network protection identification and asset advice. Other key responsibilities of the role include: Review all categories of network protection compliance applications and other document reviews Conduct site inspections and investigations relevant to providing and maintaining access to Icon Water assets, ensuring the water and sewerage networks are protected from damage and minimising in the risk of damage to the landholder’s property. Issuing of statements of compliance or non-compliance as required to align with the Territory Planning Authority’s Development/ Building Approvals and Icon Water’s Network Protection Compliance processes. Provide technical input to resolve complex issues arising from external enquiries and engage support of principle engineers as required and provide comments and input to the preparation of documents for the release or development of land parcels in the ACT. Provide advice with minimal supervision to external and internal stakeholders and customers. This includes analysing and interpreting appropriate standards to ensure new developments will meet the requirements of Icon Water. Engage with customers and other parties to facilitate compliance with Utility legislation and where necessary initiate Icon Water’s network protection notification process and epresent Icon Water at outside forums as appropriate regarding network protection compliance matters Work independently to achieve the team target KPI of 10 days turn around for network protection compliance review Assist with the review and improvement of systems, policies and procedures relevant to the position. Who we are looking for: We're seeking a self-motivated, proactive and collaborative individual with experience in the building and construction industry with strong analytical and communication skills. You'll bring tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience i n relevant discipline such as science, engineering, planning or equivalent along with a strong background in design reviews and communication in a fast-paced operational environment. You will also require: Proven experience in creating or evaluating architectural and civil documentation of large and small scale building projects. A strong understanding and experience in interpreting large scale and complex building documentation and its impact on the operation, access and protection of water/ sewerage network infrastructure. Strong writing and communication skills including engaging with customers and dealing with difficult situations.
